Health Guarantee
Our Health Guarantee Policy
A Promise Built on Love and Confidence
Your new Pomeranian is more than a pet – they are a beloved family member. We understand the trust you place in us when welcoming one of our puppies into your home. This health guarantee reflects our commitment to your puppy’s lifelong well‑being and your peace of mind, focusing on the specific health needs of the Pomeranian breed.
What Our Guarantee Covers
5‑Year Genetic Health Guarantee
We provide a 5‑year guarantee against life‑altering genetic conditions – longer than many breeders offer, reflecting our confidence in our bloodlines and breeding program. If a covered hereditary disorder is diagnosed within the first five years of your puppy’s life, we will provide a replacement puppy of equal value.
Breed‑Specific Covered Conditions
We specifically cover the following hereditary conditions common to Pomeranians:
| Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| Luxating Patella | Grade III or IV requiring surgical intervention |
| Collapsing Trachea | Severe, symptomatic, diagnosed by a specialist via fluoroscopy or endoscopy |
| Heart Defects | Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), severe pulmonic stenosis |
| Eye Diseases | Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), juvenile cataracts causing blindness |
| Hydrocephalus | Congenital (present at birth), confirmed by MRI or CT scan |
| Severe Hypothyroidism | Diagnosed before 2 years of age and unresponsive to medication |
Our breeding dogs undergo genetic screening (including patella and cardiac evaluations) to minimize these risks, and our 5‑year guarantee backs this commitment.
Your Responsibilities
To maintain this guarantee, you must partner with us by providing excellent care.
Required 72‑Hour Vet Exam
You must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This establishes a health baseline and ensures any immediate concerns are addressed. Please share the results with us – we are here to support you.
Essential Ongoing Care
Continue all recommended vaccinations, parasite prevention, and annual wellness exams.
Maintain a lean, healthy weight. Obesity worsens patella luxation and tracheal collapse.
Use a harness instead of a collar to protect the trachea.
Provide daily brushing, regular professional grooming, and dental care (Pomeranians are prone to tooth loss).
Provide moderate daily exercise and a safe, climate‑controlled environment (Pomeranians are heat‑sensitive).
Documentation
Keep all veterinary records. If a genetic condition is suspected, we may request:
Medical records and diagnostic test results (X‑rays, fluoroscopy, cardiologist report, etc.)
A second opinion from a board‑certified specialist (if necessary)
Conditions Not Covered
This guarantee does not cover:
Minor or cosmetic issues: retained baby teeth, small umbilical hernias, cherry eye, Grade I‑II patella luxation without surgery
Common illnesses: kennel cough, parasites, upper respiratory infections (these are treatable)
Ear infections, dental disease (including retained baby teeth that aren’t extracted), or skin allergies
Obesity‑related conditions (diabetes, arthritis, worsened patella/trachea issues)
Hypothyroidism that responds to medication
Coat color changes or size variations from estimates
Veterinary expenses (exams, treatments, medications)
Injuries from accidents, falls, rough play, or improper care (e.g., using a collar)
Behavioral issues: barking, confidence, stubbornness – these are natural Pomeranian traits
Any condition diagnosed after the 5‑year guarantee period
The Replacement Process
If a covered genetic condition is diagnosed, follow these steps:
Notify us in writing immediately upon diagnosis (within 30 days).
Provide complete documentation – vet records, diagnostic test results, and a written diagnosis.
We may request a second opinion from an independent specialist to confirm the hereditary nature.
Once verified, we will provide a replacement puppy from our next available litter of comparable quality.
Important Notes:
You are not required to return your original puppy to receive a replacement.
Shipping costs for the replacement puppy are the buyer’s responsibility.
This guarantee is non‑transferable – applies only to the original purchaser.
The guarantee becomes void if the dog is bred, used for commercial purposes, or rehomed without our written consent.
Proof of proper veterinary care and adherence to our care guidelines must be provided.
Our Lifetime Commitment
Our relationship with you and your Pomeranian does not end with the adoption – it is just the beginning.
Lifetime support – We are always available to answer questions about health, grooming, training, or behavior.
Right of first refusal – If you ever cannot keep your Pomeranian, you must contact us first. We will help rehome or take the dog back. Never surrender to a shelter without our consent.
Breed education – We provide ongoing guidance on dental care, harness training, weight management, and heat safety.
Return Policy
If a covered genetic condition is confirmed, you may choose a replacement puppy as described above.
There is no monetary refund for genetic conditions – only replacement puppies.
For non‑health returns, please refer to our standard Return & Rehoming Policy in the Terms & Conditions.
