Health & Wellness Guarantee for Pomeranian Puppies
We specialize in breeding happy, healthy, and well-socialized Pomeranians. This guarantee addresses the specific lifelong well‑being of your new companion, focusing on conditions common to the breed.
1. Health & Wellness Guarantee
a. Mandatory 7‑Day Veterinary Exam
You must complete a full vet exam within 7 days of receiving your puppy. If a serious, life‑altering illness or congenital defect is diagnosed during this exam, we will refund the full adoption fee plus transportation costs upon return of the puppy. Failure to complete this exam voids all guarantees.
b. 2‑Year Genetic Health Warranty
We provide a 2‑year guarantee against severe, life‑threatening genetic conditions. If diagnosed by two licensed veterinarians within the first 24 months, we offer a replacement puppy of equal value or a full refund (excluding deposit) upon return of the puppy.
Covered Conditions (specific to Pomeranians):
-
Luxating Patella: Grade III or IV requiring surgery
-
Collapsing Trachea: Severe, symptomatic, and diagnosed by a specialist
-
Heart Defects: Patent ductus arteriosus or severe pulmonic stenosis
-
Eye Diseases: Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), juvenile cataracts
-
Hypothyroidism: Only if diagnosed before 2 years of age and unresponsive to medication
Exclusions:
Grade I‑II patella luxation, tracheal sensitivity without collapse, minor eye issues, dental problems (e.g., retained baby teeth), allergies, skin conditions, injuries from trauma, obesity‑related issues, or any condition diagnosed after 2 years of age.
c. 14‑Day Communicable Disease Protection
If your puppy is diagnosed with parvovirus, distemper, or another serious contagious illness within 14 days of delivery, we provide a full refund including shipping costs (puppy must be returned with veterinary documentation). Void if 7‑day exam was not completed.
2. Reservation & Payment Terms
-
Deposit: $300 (non‑refundable, applied to total fee)
-
Final Payment: Due before pickup or shipping. Payment methods: Zelle, Wire Transfer, Cash App, certified check, or cash (in‑person).
-
No puppy is released until full payment is verified and the signed contract is returned.
3. Buyer’s Lifetime Responsibilities for a Pomeranian
By adopting, you agree to these breed‑specific care requirements:
-
Weight Management: Maintain a lean, healthy weight. Pomeranians are prone to obesity, which worsens luxating patella and tracheal issues. No table scraps; use portion control.
-
Grooming & Coat Care: Daily brushing to prevent mats; regular professional grooming. Clean teeth frequently (Poms have dental issues).
-
Exercise: Moderate daily exercise (walks, indoor play). Avoid overheating – Poms are sensitive to heat due to their short snouts.
-
Safety & Containment: Secure, fenced area or leash walks. Never leave unattended near stairs or large dogs (tiny bones). Use a harness, not a collar, to protect the trachea.
-
Veterinary Care: Annual exams, dental checkups, and patella/trachea evaluations as recommended.
-
Safe Surrender Promise: Never surrender the puppy to a shelter. Contact us first if rehoming is needed – we will assist or take the dog back unconditionally.
-
Spay/Neuter Agreement: Pet‑quality puppies must be spayed/neutered by 12 months unless otherwise agreed. Proof required upon request.
-
Breed Trait Acknowledgment: You accept that Pomeranians are vocal (barking), confident, sometimes stubborn, require early socialization, and have high grooming needs. These are breed traits, not defects.
4. Limitations & Exclusions
We are not responsible for:
-
Veterinary costs after the 7‑day exam (except as covered under genetic warranty)
-
Training or behavioral issues (including excessive barking)
-
Injuries from accidents, neglect, improper diet, or lack of grooming
-
Routine costs (food, grooming, toys, routine vet care)
-
Outcomes if the dog is used for unauthorized breeding
5. Return & Rehoming Policy
-
Within 14 days: Refund only for communicable diseases (see 1c).
-
15‑30 days: 50% refund (minus deposit) for non‑health returns; buyer pays return shipping; puppy must be in good health.
-
After 30 days: No refund. We will assist with rehoming or take the dog back.
-
Lifetime obligation: Contact us before rehoming at any time. We have right of first refusal.
6. General Provisions
-
Governing Law: Texas (Grayson County). Disputes resolved through binding mediation.
-
Full Agreement: This document, plus the signed Adoption Contract, is the complete agreement. Changes must be in writing and signed by both parties.
-
Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
